Professional Program

Designed as a means to build a stronger clientele base by securing and developing an excellent Front of the House, FDRP's Service Certification Program is endorsed by the American Culinary Federation (ACF) as well as the International Sommelier Guild (ISG), and is founded on the International Business & Gourmet Standards (IBGS) of Hospitality.

Savvy establishments know what attracts and maintains top professionals. With its ability to translate a professionals' training and experience into credits toward certification, this unique program provides for career growth even within an existing job position. But in addition to utilizing the certification levels as a formal front-of-the-house career path, restaurateurs can also smooth employee transition across unit concepts.

As a bonus, all professional certification programs are considered progressive. The candidate is awarded each prior certification status as the requirements for that level are attained. Therefore a candidate who purchases a Certified Dining Room Captain (CPT) will be awarded the Certified Dining Room Professional (CDP) certification at the completion of that level's requisites.

Certified Dining Room Professional

This core level is designed to facilitate the growth of dedicated service professionals who possess a strong knowledge base applicable to any style of restaurant, regardless of its cuisine or complexity of service.

Certified Captain
Building on the knowledge gained in the Dining Room Professional level, this level reviews the additional concepts, issues and skills of leading a team, understanding difficult customers, preparing tableside items, and understanding the impact of diet restrictions on food preparation and service. A Certified Captain has mastered all the essential elements to provide remarkable, yet unobtrusive, team service.
